salko Wrote:Hi, happy to be here. I don't feel like I'm entirely up to speed on the nature of this forum yet, but I'm sure I'll catch on. It seems like there was a previous version that had to shut down, and I get the impression that there are continuities that I don't fully understand. In any case, I'm excited to meet you all.

Hello, happy to have you. And don't fuss too much about culture or norms. I would very much prefer everyone come as they are than try to be what they think we already have.

You may have seen the old forum archive already, it's fun reading but not essential.

Thanks! I didn't mean norms, really, just the background and purpose. For example, why is the forum named after Amarna? I'm familiar with Atenism, but not with anything that would connect it to the topics discussed here (not that I've necessarily seen their full breadth).

Spiritually, Amarna is somewhat relevant. And it's a personal interest of an important friend.

Hello. Hoping to get mocked and derided with soyjaks next to my posts.

Hello. Not sure about the username. Curious how this turns out. Looking forward to your posts.

Hello. Been lurking for some time, but still not up to date on all of the lingo/in-jokes. Forgive me.

Already an established presence. Very happy to have you here and hope you feel like posting more.

Indeed, when this was posted, there was already a girl in the thread.

Hello. New to the forum, only been lurking for a little while and i'll keep to that for now, rather contribute with quality posts instead of middling ones. I do want to interact with the forum though, it's one of the most interesting ones i've come across, especially considering the dearth of them now!

Excellent. Happy to have you.

I've been lurking since 2022-ish and almost registered then. I like the forum, I have too much respect for it to add anything unless I feel it's truly worth the effort

I have ideas/drafts for threads on the Malazan fantasy series, Ender Wiggin from Enders Game, and Henry Darger, a schizoid outsider artist

I just don't have much of a "point" besides droning about things I like that might interest the forum. Threads here seem to have either a thesis or ignite discussion. I would just be journaling which feels like a waste

These thread ideas, basically summize my interest in this forum, and the possible disconnect. I'm a bibliophile and cinephile primarily, and everything else is a distant second. This forum primarily regards the creation of a better world, however I'm a diagnosed schizoid and schizotypal, jettisoned from the corporeal world. A more refined world means refined art, and I'm primarily interested in the latter.

Not out of feigned neutrality, rather if billions have to be absorbed in a volcanic rumbling so I can read better books, I only see better books

Excellent. Please feel free to do whatever whenever. It all sounds interesting to me. I haven't read Malazan but have read Ender's Game and am familiar with Darger. Reminds me, I meant to make a thread on Red Rising. Sorry Zed, maybe I'll finally get to that soon.

Happy to have you here, glad you've found something you like.

Hi. I've been lurking since last year and I was fascinated by all the ideas floating around on the forum. I discovered it when it got mentioned on xitter. Open discussion of topics shunned elsewhere seemed fresh and interesting. It might be one of the first places on the internet where most posters are definitely smarter than myself, but the conversation feels honest and to the point. I probably won't be starting any threads of my own, I'm looking forward to reading what others have to say.
