Hey guys, sorry I haven't been updating the blog. There just isn't anything interesting going on besides Patrick's meltdowns when he loses bets and my job keeps me pretty busy. Anyways, I thought it would be fun to hear what you guys think about Monster Energy's line of products and if you have any recommendations that aren't on this list. I like most energy drinks but Monster seems to have the best price:flavor:caffeine ratio. Something about them just hits the spot in a way the rest don't, which I think is because of whatever vitamin mix they use.

I agree with mean bean being the very best. I used to tolerate the other fruity/acidic flavors but thinking about it now I wouldn't want to drink them at all. For me it would be mean bean in S tier, the chocolate Java in C, and everything else in D or F (if it causes diarrhea or has unnecessary sugar). Those are just the flavors I've tried though. If I want some sugar free meth for a productive morning, I like sugar free Red Bull. Mean Bean for staying up late on a romantic night.
I agree that that green one is very good, but I haven't been drinking any of those sugar-free ones because I've been avoiding sugar-free stuff. I haven't tried any of the coffee ones. Typically I stick to plain old Red Bull. I don't care for most alternative Red Bull flavors, but the Peach Nectarine one is very good.

The best energy drink is a good coffee, black, no sugar, drunk alongside a little cigarillo.
Monster always fucks up my sleep even when taken early in the morning. Coffee does not.
I always found it strange that people describe tea vs coffee by caffeine content, because it is entirely dependent on the dosage. My favorite DIY energy drink, if I am going out to a party or some other social event in the afternoon, is to make a triple dose of loose leaf green tea in a small quantity of water. If it calls for one tablespoon use three. Only steep it for 1.5 minutes at around 200f, and then mix in honey and serve it over ice. I like this combo especially for nights because the L-theanine to caffeine ratio in green tea is better than black tea, and the L-theanine counteracts the anxiety effect of caffeine.

Sometimes if I'm not in an anxious mood but still going out, then I'll use black tea but mix it with milk, whiskey and honey. Steeped for three minutes at the same temperature then poured over ice. The flavor can be nice as long as you don't use too much water.
I'd frankly put this insane new variant I had this morning into B or A tier, definitely good stuff

I'm partial to the Monster Ultra Rosa because it's not as sweet as the other varieties. The best of them all in my opinion is the now discontinued Monster Mule (ginger beer with lime).
I tried Monster Mule on different occasions and it gave me massive diarrhea within 30 minutes every time. You could consider it a high tier Utility Monster for curing constipation and detoxing.
They still sell Mule on European markets. It's one of the few decent ones in my opinion and perhaps the only variant that doesn't feel like it's melting my teeth with acid.

The all time greatest. Sort of like a Cherry Coke.

It's been out of circulation in the States for a decade. Recently they "re-released" it - but without the cherry flavoring. If you find an OG version (digital camo) in some run down gas station somewhere you owe it to yourself to give it a shot, expired or not. Hints of Modern Warfare 2 and punk-metal transport you to a better time...
I'll have to try these recommendations, thanks guys
