A thread to share grids of great cinematography from visual art.

I'll start off by posting an old grid I made of Episode 10 of Do It Yourself!, an anime that came out in 2022. There's a very physical reality to the shots that I chose in the grid, which I think is important to the shows aesthetic (and to some extent it's messaging). Shadows are rendered in logical manner, objects are drawn with detail and physicality. This is intentionally done, as the show is about DIY crafts, and pits their relative humanity to a more technological, detached, world. Anyways, enough sperging, here's the grid, hopefully you like it.

Made this to convince people to watch Genocyber, an excellent OVA with a reputation weighed down by memes spread by stupid people.

Genocyber is an excellent piece of art indeed, but is sadly only mentioned within discussions pertaining to "graphic anime scenes". I have not stumbled across any discussions dedicated to its many qualities.

The first time I watched Death Note, I was shocked at just how truly biblical it was. Light tries to overthrow God by administering his own divine justice, but is eventually foiled by man, proving himself a false god. Yet his worship persists. It's such an interesting story, stuck with me forever. One of the most amarnite manga ever made, and yet libtards think it's about how Light is actually secretly a bad guy and shit.

It’s so beautiful. I’d cry if only I had the tears to do so.
