"Yeah, I'm still a music guy."

If you didn't grow up listening to Handel's Messiah around Christmas, you aren't white.

Let me alone to recover a little, before I go whence I shall not return

Heard this on the radio at work earlier. One of the few surviving works from his days as a student. Written when he was fifteen. Another reminder that we live in Harrison Bergeron world.

Apparently the guy made this album while temporarily blind after having both of his retinas detach and needing surgery. McAloon essentially made this by listening to and recording television shows, radio programs, chat shows, citizens band conversations, etc. The whole album is alright but this opening track is what really shines.

Just started getting into Prefab. Was certain it would be in this thread somewhere. Heil.

For a little while now I've seen orchestral re-recordings of older songs. Not sure how I feel about it. There's a very fine line that you have to tread. The below three songs are instances of the orchestral re-recording actually sounding pretty good, in my opinion. Especially the two by Roy Orbison—unquestionably one of the best American musical artists ever.
