The 1488 Accounts and What Makes an Oldtroon
#1
I assume some of you know of this, but for the uninitiated I will explain. Back in mid-July, there was a short lived trend on Twitter in which so-called "big accounts" were impersonated by smaller, more racist ones. This began possibly with the spread of Fischerking dialogues earlier in the month, culminating with the creation of "The Fischerking Guys" and later "Fischerking 1488" accounts. Many other large accounts were also impersonated, such as BAP, Zero HP Lovecraft, and Benjamin Braddock. Most 1488 accounts quickly gained around 200 followers, with the bigger ones reaching 500 followers within a couple weeks. As of writing, the fad has died out with the longest lasting account, “Benjamin Braddock 1488”, being suspended at almost 600 followers. The 1488 accounts started as funny jokes(“Kek what if Fischerking said TND”) but as it became more popular, people began to claim that the purpose of it was to hold the larger accounts to standards, and make sure they didn’t cuck. During this period, a new term reached mainstream popularity: Oldtroon.  In this thread, I would like to define  oldtroon, the characteristics that an oldtroon posseses, and name some of the biggest “oldtroons” in  “rw” twitter and surrounding spheres. Some main questions:

Is age necessarily intertwined with ideology? Is it a predetermined fate for men to eventually cuck on their views as they grow older?
Similar to the first question, is it just destiny for different “rw” spheres to lose influence as time goes on? Will amarnites one day be called oldtroons and be told that they are cucking?(you can already see the beginnings of this start to develop with twitter user “Daiyousei1489” who has been leading a one-man crusade against what he percieves as some kind of discord-coordinated op including  Earth Rabbit, DSG, BidenRapeGroyper, and many other so-called “Lords and gemmers of the heavensite”)?
And the most important question: what makes an oldtroon?
Oldtroon(n.): A once-right wing account that over time has lost its edge, becoming hard to distinguish from irony leftists and normie conservatives.

This is not meant to be a thread to gossip over ecelebs in, but to clearly define an archtype that has emerged recently. Think of it like the Norwood vocal tics thread.

I think right wing youth radicalism is at least in part a product of the energies and passions of youth. Eventually a young man will reach thirty and then thirty five, and then forty and so forth, he will either be pacified(a wife, children, tolerable job) or so demoralized he can't bring himself to care as his personal conditions have not been improved by his prior radicalism.

I don't think its a matter of age, as much as the reigning ZOG world makes the fuel of radicalism inevitably exhaust itself.

I was able to see those 1488 accounts before their suspension and I found them funny. Some of the aggravating details about accounts like FischerKing is that they’re unable to tweet anything truly controversial. It is the opposite of “too big to fail”, “failing because you’re too big”. I remember he wrote something to the effect that most Twitter audiences are too delayed in their realizations, that they must be slowly reeled into the Dissident Right consensus. This can only appear as a functional argument in IRL circumstances, not online ones. It's hard to imagine that the average twitter user will go from the End Wokeness account to FischerKing to an account name like HitlerianRapeCunny88. Are those average users really worth convincing?

The consistent high engagement on DR spheres, compared to regular Twitter spheres, is evidence that they can exist on their own. They do not really require a moderation of views. Users can be suspended on numerous occasions and still find each other, while, in comparison, accounts with 300k followers can only attract measly engagement numbers. The misperception among these accounts is that their follower base and lack of suspension makes them more important than the anons, even though they are nothing without said anons. Their accounts and their online followings are an accidental byproduct of DR anons, not the other way around.

Anyways, I wonder about the overall significance of the "oldtroon" term. It certainly seems applicable in the accounts that you've mentioned, but the use of it with amarna sphere figures is highly questionable. So far as I am aware, most posters in this sphere still openly discuss loli and other related things. It's difficult to imagine how exactly such posters end up being viewed as "soft"/"cucking" on certain things. I'm not familiar with the Discord drama. It seems in that specific case "oldtroon" is being redefined rapidly to mean "older poster", rather than the definition you listed in your post. As much as young posters should be welcomed, denigrating older posters for the sake of it isn't strategically sound — it would only lead to aimless infighting if the younger posters didn't have any better alternatives. If amarna sphere types are "cucking" now, what (or who) would replace them in their stead? It doesn't sound very well thought out, if that's the criticism.

I would like to see what other posters think on this subject.

It is impossible for Amarnites to become oldtroons because The Amarna Forum™ Does Not Exist and neither do Amarnites.

Biggest oldtroons:

I belive the main issues that Daiyousei1489 is protesting are anime girl breast size and users making edits instead of writing longhand posts. He is not exactly saying that the older accounts’ views are not pure enough, it’s more about how they express them.

It is simple resentment playing out, although not in the direction that OP wishes it to be. The game is simply "why are they bigger than me?" The rationalization is x,y, or z. In this case "they are not keyed."

This has already happened before, what is happening here resembles that exact scenario note-for-note. As always, be safe with your dealings etc. One day you have an online friend, the next day, a bitter enemy. For no reason often, just...why do they have this thing that I do not? Sex, money, status etc. plays into it.

None of the accounts in OP were ever something else. They are not even old, or part of the original group. They are exactly what they were, and you might find this serves a purpose, or you might find that it does not.

Age attacks more rapidly the more poor one's general health and life is. Poor...as in poor. Lacking.

I'm not sure what you're on about with the rest of your post, so I'll just focus on this. Now, among the examples listed by C'est la vie, there would only be one figure that could inspire resentment: BAP, because he has released two books and has a podcast. Even this looks like an insufficient explanation since BAP had excellent connections from the get-go. As for the others, it is harder to make a case for legitimate resentment. One does not gain anything by having the FischerKing account. I have no clue who the man behind the X account really is. I know next to nothing about Benjamin Braddock, other than a claim that he hired illegal immigrants. I also am not too familiar with ZHP beyond seeing him post coal on the timeline/For You page.

You could say that the recent feature of Elonbux is enough reason for personal resentment, but that is not very fortuitous in the long term. We are not speaking of celebrities here, we are speaking of posters. Their existence on the Internet is tied to the quality of their statements and how memorable those statements are. If this wasn't an essential characteristic then we wouldn't remember any Salo Forum users at all, nor would people archive old tweets from suspended accounts. Whatever resentment may arise from this comes from a different source than the usual "why is this person more successful than me?" thought. There isn't a true material success when posting, only a success in ideas and so on. It's an interesting detour if someone feels resentment from that, provided that the resentful character has something insightful to say. It prevents us from echoing the same statements back and forth.

Resentment does not have a reason. I am surprised you do not know this. Many things happen, that make no good sense, purely due to resentment. It is a simple matter of disparity, perceived or real.

Resentment might be felt for purely strange reasons. I do not know the reason, although perhaps in your post there is some explanation of it. There is no success in ideas to feel resentful for. There are different audiences who respond to different things. Audiences will vary in size, quality, etc. Tastes and so on.

Anyhow, it is an interesting idea to find insight from resentment. I do not think it can be found there myself, but I could be wrong. Does ash become fire, and so on.

It would end up being quite hilarious if you are in fact ZHP, despite being so above it all. Even if you're not, you might as well be; one could assume that you are and it would make no difference whether he was right or wrong about it.

There are lots of even bigger accounts that don't mention politics at all, if this thread were explained by simple resentment of follower number it would suggest they were similarly resentful of those accounts. This does not seem to be the case.

I dislike these accounts because they post coal and subvert our political goals for attention. I actually have all of the big accounts mentioned so far muted, not because I resent them but because I kept seeing their posts and they sucked.

Additionally, the Twitter algorithm rewards this subversive attention whore behavior and tends to ban truly keyed accounts as they grow, so it's practically a given that accounts above a certain size will be garbage.

Didn't read the full thread but I am not sure where this impression that accounts like 0HP or Ben Braddock were ever "good" accounts in the first place comes from. They have always been aggressively midwitted and obnoxious, they can only regurgitated "insight" and humor from others

I am ZHP, true.

Now to the other post: "because they post coal and subvert our political goals for attention."

Posting coal is a good enough reason to dislike someone yes. If you have political goals that depend on posting that are subvertible then you simply have a losing strategy and method.

Two of the more active threads on this forum are "twitter drama" and now this one.

Daiyousei is a now-retired sockpuppet ran by me and a handful of other people. Don't waste your time trying to examine him.
