I hope Masaki moves on from this and leans more into his own interests. Between the translation, insight into Japan, and his general character I think he's interesting enough to not need this stuff. When I was on twitter I actually unfollowed him because the stupid BAP-speak imitation was driving me crazy, which I didn't want to do because I was genuinely interested in everything else he had to say.
Might not seem obvious at first but I really do feel like this right-twitter cool-kid culture is an opposing force to actually pursuing interesting things and meeting cool people. Might have been a cool and lively force at one point, but now it's a mental and cultural ghetto that everyone needs to get out of. Hopefully Masaki figures this soon.
Can't beat conformism out of a Jap, I guess.

Been amusing to see BAP and Co. try to use an MSG/Smeed/"Amarnite" style of posting. BAP in particular seems to have lost his ability to introduce new words and forms of communication to the Discourse. Everything he has contributed you can see in his forum posts from 2014. Funny still, but increasingly used by people I do not want to be associated with.
A while ago, in a thread he made disparaging the focus on IQ, Book Cat made a tweet stating that Karl Marx had an incredibly high IQ, "and yet...". It's so funny.

Well it's all about how you look at things. This forum is all about looking at things through new perspectives and we all enjoy a dose of contrarianism and humor. Amarnites often post stuff like that unless we are all sockpuppets too.
Grumpy Carlsbad's post has become a copypasta. Search "quite damning depending on your POV". Not very funny, but I imagine it pisses him off. He hates being the butt of animeposters joke dialogues and now 90 IQ normies are copying and pasting him because it's the meme of the week.
It's an easy critique but I think it's insane for Carlsbad to create a fake persona and grow it stating the common and agreeable opinions of the side he dislikes only to then say out there opinions and count each and every person who liked what for some "exposing". Very unstable personality, seems so petty and vindictive they'd probably doxx someone in the future over some spat, though it just goes to show how twitter is an awful site that drains productive energy for infighting given his blog hasn't gotten an update in quite a while.

I don't know Carlsbad, never followed him and maybe read one of his articles ever, but this sounds like classic NRx blogger behavior. Every year or so, some guy from that scene will receive some minor sleight from a guy that's always been on his side and he inexplicably doxes him in return. Kantbot's was the most noteworthy and probably the most spectacular because of his complete 180 in demeanor and ideology. For once it's fortunate people here typically don't have long-standing accounts. Knowing now how Carlsbad likes to spend his time, I'm sure he would've combed through them looking for doxable info.
