Referring to recalling something you learned as “regurgitating”, especially in the context of school.

I believe the standard usage of regurgitation in this way generally meant:

Someone discusses X. Other person unloads a bucket of information that is vaguely related to X. We would say that the other person "regurgitated" (vomited out [carelessly, messily delivered]) that information.

If it has been changed, then that is unfortunate. The tendency will always exist and a new word will come to mean it again.

It's a good term on its own. Since it is generally saying that one did not "digest" the information they are spewing. But if fools are applying it worthlessly (regurgitating regurgitation itself), then it has/will lost its meaning.

Quintessential to the origin of Norwood humor is FYAD and the Weird Twitter crew disseminating from there. The board was the most controversial on SA and if you peruse the older threads you will even find them ganging up on a mopey and histrionic tranny or two, as well as cyberstalking and doxing people from the smallest amount of information, which continued literally and in spirit on YWNBAWchannel. It was a bastion of true freedom, you could say. They supposedly bullied an autistic man into suicide, but who knows. The FYAD crowd was a chance meeting of what I imagine to be lanklet or otherwise misshapen BPD proto-tranny leftist types who opposed mainstream leftism and the kind of moderate or conservative millennilols who would go on to make places like Kiwifarms and maybe post on places like Sluthate and PUAhate. The Weird Twitter crowd was of course nowhere near these extremes. All of these people were socially maladaptive, not to say that is a bad thing. What they ended up reproducing was an attempt at a normie water-cooler banter environment except with their in-jokes and "ironic" fixations. They used this to mock those more socially maladaptive than themselves.

Their humor was focused on lower class American stereotypes, "Facebook people", "People of Wal-Mart", though the latter would be considered beneath them. I can't say their targets were necessarily white, brown people are also into the things they made fun of. The Bush era was a boring time. It would be easy to say they got bullied by Chad and this was cope, but if you know the kind of Americans they mocked, you understand they aren't exactly good-looking or intelligent.

Weird Twitter carried on these trends in a neutered form. They had their infighting. There was an aggressive side that later fell from the spotlight as wint and the Chapo crew became a thing. This is ground zero of Norwood humor: reappropriating the kind of speaking styles that were already being satirized in Beavis and Butthead but with a chill leftist message and subtle signals about how the person using them is actually smart. It's astonishing how influential this was on the internet. They have also internalized a style of "mean girls" bullying that makes you wonder if this has more to do with being rejected and overvaluing female acceptance. I notice trannies indulge in this quite a bit, the "you dork", "you nerd" attacks. This makes them feel like women, but it never really works, which is why they have to do it more harshly than real women.

I think the conflict comes down to these people feeling a contradiction about being slightly more intelligent than the people they were surrounded by and not allowing themselves to indulge their feelings of superiority enough. Their "chuunibyo" or "Romantic" side was crushed long ago. You could call them house niggers but for autism. They traded in their creative potential to be afforded a place in social consensus reality. It is cruel that what sustained the illusion of this reality will probably disintegrate in the near-future. They will never get to be normal in the way they wanted. They are a triumph of bad conscience, bad faith, resentment, and the enemy of everything that gives value to life.

Not exactly a Norwoodism but I see that this thread's devolved into discussing general normalfag ticks so I'll follow: Attributing traits to a specific website or fanbase i.e. "4chan users are Nazi terrorists" or "Anime fans don't take showers". These are completely anachronistic ways of looking at groups since the strict qualifications needed to cultivate a specific set of traits within a (typically hyper-online) group/fandom no longer exist with the rise of mass democratization of the internet and consequentially normal people not existing anymore. 4chan, Reddit, Discord, anime fandoms etc. all house the masses who share the exact same beliefs and the people who lambast whichever group are usually only one or two degrees of association away from being placed into that very group. This isn't even mentioning the fact that these people get all their concepts and humor from the supposed Nazi incel gamer chud.

I believe it stems out of "troll's remorse", if you will. These people clearly enjoy their time spent online (even if they feign discontent, they still rack up enough hours to understand what "Nazi incel gamer chud" means) and away from normalfaggotry but feel guilt due to the nigger in their head telling them they shouldn't be, so they desperately attack some group they perceive as more online to reaffirm their normalfaggotry (which is unrecoverable anyways).

Another good post, "Troll's Remorse" also needs a thread. I think "Troll's Remorse" is (or may be) Norwood, because to be a Norwood is to have completely failed to transition from a recalcitrant "edgelord" into a state mandated "Normal One Haver" as well as (and importantly) to become paranoically aware of this. They were and are "terminally online", now in a state of panic that they need to atone for it. This is not a bad point at all, you're right about this being a Gen X subcultural constant (or recurrant)— but I would argue this is not (largely) applicable to "goons".
The Goon has an equal interest in transhumanist fiction (so we may consider Gen X to have been more interested in this than prior generations) which is why the link to Gen X'rs as sci-fi fetishists is so easy, but their tastes manifest in the form of something more akin to Ralph Bakshi's Cool World:

The aspect of the "goon" which I would say is the most like your specific comparison, is their LONG fascination with tabletop gaming bullshit (following rules for fun).
Obviously, we can attribute this most immediately to the fact on average goons are OLD, and grew up in a pre-video game world (hell), but there's deeper connections here— something I've noticed many times (from absorbing myself into Second Life over 9,001 years ago, and then again from trolling FetLife when I decided to go threaten to rape and kill women on there for the lulz, since it's basically within the rules) and started to notice more and more afterwards, is the distinct character of someone who enjoys 'following rules for fun' (the Japanese are also like this with their affinity for model kits, but it's significantly different, though the ways in which perversion manifest from this are related).
People who "get off" (if they even can) to novel-length lists on how to speak, act, "consent"... all that faggotry. Goons have always been incredibly logocentric people, there is nothing in the world that makes them happier than reading long DENSE schlock— they are the original TL;DRposters for a reason. But the details of this should be considered, if the goon likes sci-fi they like it because it is the most theory dense fiction, they like TTRPG for the same reasons, and they like "cartoons" as a kind of antithesis to this (but they find ways to make it the same, this is the most complex detail).. their taste in games also parallels, they love Fallout because it's a BOOK, Space Station 13, Eve Online is a fucking homework simulator too, this is what goons enjoy doing when left to their own devices. From here, it's easy to understand the reason goons troon is because of their logocentrism, putting definitions ahead of the truth (and the 5 senses), it is no surprise that furries were born originally at sci-fi conventions as well, because they too are a product of this.

This is what made FYAD kind of an aberration, it was the most chaotic with the most anime (therefore the most like /b/), even if ironic as "WTF Japan" (which is what goons were most attracted to, as the absurdism created an ironic shield). I view FYAD as being a kind of decompression chamber for the incredibly neurotic jannie mind of the goon, a place where they could unleash their (correct) hatred of society and normalfaggots (niggers, women, dysgenic faggots, etc.), which they would normally campaign against (because goons are a culture of self-loathing, which is why they moved into ZOG's Victim Olympics as troons after, spooks most likely hijacked Tumblr as a mechanism for socializing Lisa Simpson academic faggotry to broke people who normally would've been left behind) in all other forms, and the "troon" as the gradual sink (or in some cases reclamation within ZOGcietal norms) of them being horrified they were "never able to be normal" which takes the form of an attempted reset at their life (in their retard-mind: becoming a girl and mentally going through their teen years again, except not as a stunted man).
This is what originally differentiated them from the Millennial channer, who was an anarchist in nature, and enjoyed the chaos. This thread is for documenting words, phrases, or styles of argumentation that are endemic to Norwoods. I'll start off with one:

You see this one a lot on Twatter, as a sentence-ending particle conveying the Norwood's disdain for their interlocutor. It's funny for two reasons:

1. It depends on a a notion of "high school social hierarchy" - nerds, jocks, preps, etc. - that is totally informed by media, and has no connection to contemporary life (I think Sphag posted about this). Thus, in trying to shame the target for being "out of touch", the Norwood shows his own ignorance as to how status hierarchies are actually structured.
   
2. Following from the previous reason: It is almost solely used by Alphabet People and other unequivocal freaks. They are the lowest of the low, but still desperately want to believe there's someone below them.

Unsure if this already came up, but the use of the word "folks" is in the same vein. It is often used by educated people to make them seem down to earth and in touch with the "common people", but comes off as seriously inauthentic and forced, particularly when it`s some PhD student from the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic using it.

Yeah I agree, though BAP-isms are more functional as ingroup signals than "poast" in particular, which isn't specific to BAP or even RW.
