Individuals on the autism spectrum oftentimes have difficulties distinguishing between fiction and reality. The characters in their favorite animes simply feel much realer to them than to others. Kiwifarms is functionally a repository for never ending plotlines involving a familiar cast of characters. The joy isn't in witnessing anything particularly interesting happen, 90% of the characters are just people who create Youtube videos for living, but in the sense of satisfaction Aspies get by categorizing information.

Kiwifarms is essentially the same thing as TV Tropes for the age cohort that received a substantial portion of their childhood media consumption watching Youtube videos on their mother's iPads. No, the users aren't normal. But they are exceptionally mundane.

I understand all I am really doing is reenforcing the topics already stated previously, but I find it interesting the more vicious the farms is towards a certain subject, the more the site users themselves seem to have in common with them. I can think of Ethan Ralph as the easiest example, where a large set of comments regarding him have to do with his weight. Null and I can only assume many of those who frequently discuss Ralph, are themselves incredibly overweight, but that does not deter Null from committing large sections of his livestreams to the topic. Kiwi Farmers acts as the next generation's Something Awful Goons who are obsessed with "shoving nerds into lockers" and other strange social power plays that especially fall flat on the internet.

Semi-unrelated but there was a video circulating several months ago regarding a lolcow podcast. From what I gathered from the clip I saw, it involved 3 lolcows who recorded the first segment of the show, while several Kiwi Farms adjacent commentators would critique or make fun of what the cows said on the show. The most interesting part of the whole display was seeing how similar the cows and the farmers fared from an appearance standpoint, with all of them being obese.

I always end up in a bad mood after investigating lolcows, for instance after watching some videos of the Joe Aufricht guy in the other lolcow thread, and I also noticed this happening when listening to dbdr. I see parts of myself in them, and worry about the future. I can imagine how another person experiencing these feelings (especially if they hit closer to home, e.g. both the lolcow and observer are fat) might find it emotionally cathartic to turn to anger and come to hate the lolcow.

Perhaps a lot of KF's community participation is based around this cycle of cope, where KF users repeatedly expose themselves to depressing life stories that provoke anxiety within them, and then reactively soothe one another by posting sadistic gossipy replies and exchanging heart emojis.

Brilliant picture. Basically explaining that we all live in our own bubbles, and we all perceive reality to be a bit different due to that. The Longhouse/Cool Nigger in Your Brain manifests itself in different people in different ways, they perceive it as looking different; but in function it's the same metaphor for how their thinking is enslaved.

Anthony, I think has an overly broad sympathy to anyone classified as "abnormal". Obviously, you get the whole ideal of the "Sensitive Young Man" not following the stupidity and caustic shallowness of the masses, and I think the Amarna forum is being overly generous to the sort of people KF makes fun of. I have seen Chris Chan lionized as some sort of sensitive poet, because well he's unique isn't he?

But it's definitely fascinating to see the watchers watching the watchers, (and the Amarna forum does a lot of watching on its own), being itself watched by the watchers its watching.

There's two principles of KF, the catty chattel of women and the CN. They aren't the same, the latter is the self imposed restrictions people put on themselves and I suspect this user is of the former. I always saw that post about Chris' cover art by Rake as shock content basically telling people that there's no point in following his life unless you truly understand him and what he does at his best.

Minor rule breakers are lumped in and documented with the same effort as the Chris Chans of the world, it's all time spent putting people down.

From my memory it could be argued rather clearly to be the other way around, high 'jak editing did not come from the sphere, or it could be said to be a mix because I know for certain the most loved soyteen image and video creators and "Amarnites" were one and the same. But back to the thread topic my two cents as I've stated many times in the shoutbox, KF is no different in spirit to old gossip rags in fact I would go as far to say  it could be symbolic of wider cultural falling apart worse than those magazines tied with new communication technology and nothing more. Above any of the reasons discussed so far to dislike it, it is the sheer ugliness of what they covet with no purpose than getting the worlds largest dirt collection together to act superior over is what gets me. There is no creation here as Cats said just impotent anger while you document some autistic from VA like no human being has ever been documented before...for what moral or intellectual purpose!?  Being the Cool Nigger? Every post in the Salo/Amarna thread are just posters from here and TBC. It's not like "Trevor Bauer" is going out of his way to conceal this by adopting the guise of a seperate baseball player.

Kiwifarms is obsessed with fame: they're really just not interested in a niche forum whose best posts are about working towards a definition of art and how this applies to videogames.
