Description: We develop, refine, and spread our ideas, and tailor them towards dissatisfied elites, so that they will break off from the main elite consensus and become patrons of our cause.
Examples (historical & modern): The French Revolution, The Russian Revolution
The Bolsheviks were not anywhere near the favored group of elites. They were the favored group of a foreign power which wanted to destabilize Russia. This did not end up well for Russians.
Quote:(EI) Elite Infiltration
Description: We join various institutions of power (e.g. academia, the military, political parties, intelligence agencies etc.) and slowly work our way up the ranks until we control them.
Examples (historical & modern): American leftists
One's ideals inevitably end up aligning with those of their paycheck. Colonels have mortgages to pay and aren't going to jeopardize their shot at making general, let alone sign their own pink slip.
Quote:(CW) Civil War
Description: We build up resources, connections, and equipment in preparation for a coming open shooting civil war with the System (presumably of a right & rural vs. left & urban nature).
Examples (historical & modern): The Russian Civil War
Have you been to Walmart recently? Bubba is a 300 pound diabetic and his mobility scooter can't recharge in a trench.
More importantly: he's possibly sympathetic to extremism because he feels like he's been neglected and written off by the system.
Because he has been. Taking over the local post office is only going to keep him from getting his disability check. And no, no one's waging a guerilla war in the Great Plains to "starve the cities" (AKA - throwing away their paycheck).
Quote:(ADA) Accelerationist Direct Action
Description: We form small, decentralized cells and commit various t*rr*r*st acts against the System and its infrastructure in order to increase chaos, disorder, and pain in order to accelerate collapse and/or push the Masses towards Revolution.
Examples (historical & modern): The Irish Republican Army, Atomwaffen Division
Anyone who sincerely believes this to be even a remote option is on a direct course to prison and will take you with him if it means a reduction of sentence. If you get in early enough, however, you might be able to escape prison entirely and collect a nice salary as a full-time Federal informant.
Quote:(CN) Cosa Nostra/Underworld Infiltration
Description: We infiltrate the criminal underworld and use criminal activities and tactics to acquire power, connections, and funds which we can then use towards political ends.
Examples (historical & modern): Early Bolsheviks, Mexican cartels, Mossad & Epstein
Criminals are criminals for a reason. They'll kill their closest friend if it means a payday.
The Tiflis Bank Robbery was amongst the stupidest things Lenin ever did and famously managed to split the RSDLP into two irreconcilable factions while elevating the worst elements of each. It was Kronstadt before Kronstadt.
Quote:(PM) Popular Movement
Description: We start some sort of publicly organized political party or movement and use rallies, propaganda, marches, rousing speeches, etc. to convince enough of the people to vote for and/or support us, and then begin pushing legislation.
Examples (historical & modern): NSDAP, National Justice Party, America First, Patriot Front, MAGA
The NSDAP is the very definition of ontological evil in Americanized culture. Anything that even vaguely resembles Fascism is complete and total anathema to anyone who doesn't have a chip in their shoulder against society as a whole (i.e. anyone successful).
It's success, anyways, was due to a gross miscalculation of it's usefulness to ruling elites at the time. As there exists no actual threat to elite power on the left, they have no need to allow a strong reactionary force to grow in the first place. In the 21st century Hitler gets a life sentence after the Beer Hall Pustch (assuming the don't execute him for the murder of several police officers) and is quickly forgotten.
Quote:(NEF) New Elite Formation
Description: We form a new elite, with our own institutions, connections, figures, ideas, schools of thought, etc., and then draw high-quality people into this elite, and then outcompete the old elite out of their positions of power by virtue of our own worthiness and closer affection to Truth.
Examples (historical & modern): Early Christians in Rome, Hezbollah in Lebanon,
Political power has nothing to do with "truth" and high-quality people aren't going to jump off the career ladder as long as they continue to be able to achieve a very high quality standard of living by standing by traditional institutions.
Quote:(RF) Retreat & Fortification
Description: We retreat from modern political life and move into small, heavily fortified, entirely self-reliant and self-sustaining autarkic planned communities in the countryside, where we no longer have to rely on the System and can build the seeds of a new future outside of it.
Examples (historical & modern): Afrikaners in modern South Africa
Good luck!
Quote:(EC) Esoteric Cult
Description: We form an esoteric cult that we use to transmit our ideas, which then controls an exoteric public new religious movement which we can use to gain money, power, and followers.
Examples (historical & modern): Jews, Early Christians, Scientology
The only figures of note to associate with Scientology are closeted homosexual actors 20 years past their prime. World-spanning, all-powerful neo-religious movements are the stuff of science fiction and will always remain so. Christianity took 300 years to become powerful and specifically lacked a cohesive hierarchy (or anything approaching unity, at all) before it's adoption as the Roman state religion.
Quote:(PGM) Prepare for the Great Man
Description: We build up Mannerbunds, small cells of young, like-minded men whom we can trust with our lives, and secretly and slowly rank up in society and various institutions, building up social, financial, and political capital in anticipation of the coming of America’s Great Man (cf. Caesar, Napoleon, Hitler, etc.)
Examples (historical & modern): The Gracci Brothers, The Friekorps
Success in meritocratic and hierarchical structures
necessarily selects for exactly the opposite of someone you would trust with your life. Ask the SA how trustworthy Hitler was.
The simple fact of the matter is that self-interests drives men. None of these options are remotely feasible because the United States enjoys an incredibly high standard of living and anything that deliberately seeks to bring instability into the equation is a complete non-starter for anyone with a stake in the status quo. You might not feel like you have such a stake, but neither did the Baby Boomers at your age.
This doesn't mean things are hopeless - far from it! Like all ruling classes, the current Trans-Atlantic set are arrogant. They're going to do something very stupid eventually. It's important to remember that the premier member of Moldbug's lauded Technocratic Elite has managed to cost his company 70% of it's valuation in the last year trying to sell an MMO with meetings instead of quests that gives a significant portion of it's users motion sickness. The other great ideas of our time include a taxi company that runs at an enormous loss in the hope that eventually someone will design a self-driving car (not happening), a phone designed to have problems communicating with other platforms mainly used by women to take pictures of themselves, and poorly engineered cars that need to be plugged in every few hours.
Things could change very quickly if the United States were to lose a war in the Persian Gulf or Taiwan Strait in a dramatic fashion (something which is highly likely given the recent advances in missile technology - we could very well lose an entire fleet in days). Even a small nuclear exchange by non-aligned minor powers somewhere in the world could drastically tip the international political calculus. There have been several enormously expanded markets in the last decade which could turn out to be catastrophic bubbles. These events would have a large effect on the world specifically because they are impossible to accurately predict.
Calico's advice: find a nice girl, have some kids, and never let yourself take the internet seriously. Change will inevitably occur, but it's impossible to say whether it'll be in your lifetime.
